2012 Events

February 3-4, 2012 - Critz Tybee Run Fest
5K Friday Night at the Tybee Lighthouse. 10K Saturday morning at 7:00am. Half Marathon Saturday morning at 8:30am. 2.8 Mile Beach Run Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm. 1 mile run Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm. Participants can choose to do 1, 2, 3, 4 or all 5 events. If you participate in all 5 events the distance add up to 26.2 miles - a full marathon. Visit www.critztybeerun.com for additional details.

February 17-18, 2012 - Mardi Gras Tybee
Join in the fun at the 4th Annual Mardi Gras Tybee. This event includes a Masquerade Ball, Mardi Gras parade, and a street party with free live entertainment and more.

March 10 - Tybee Island Irish Heritage Celebration Parade, 3pm
Tybee Island's fun, family-friendly parade to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Many floats offer beads and treats along the parade route for children.

April 14, 2012 - Tybee Island Wine Festival, 3-7pm
Grand Tasting on the grounds of the historic Tybee Lighthouse with international wines, craft beers, and morsels from the island's favorite restaurants. Visit www.tybeewinefestival.com

April 28, 2012 - 8th Annual Turtle Trot - 5K Beach Run

May 4, 2012 - SCAD Sands Arts Festival

May 5, 2012 - Paint Tybee Pink
6-mile walk starting at the Tybee Pier to raise money for the under-insured in Coastal Georgia fighting breast cancer.

May 18, 2012 - Tybee Island Beach Bum Parade
Annual water-fight parade on Tybee Island marking the last weekend prior to the main summer season. Spectators battle parade participants in this unique island tradition. No water balloons or buckets allowed.

July 3, 2012 - Fireworks
A fireworks display will be launched from the Tybee Pier over the Atlantic Ocean at approximately 30 minutes after dark.

September 2, 2012 - Labor Day Beach Bash & Fireworks
A fireworks display will be launched from the Tybee Pier over the Atlantic Ocean at approximately 30 minutes after dark. Free live entertainment will also be on the Tybee Pier that evening.

October 5-7, 2012 - Tybee Island Pirate Fest
AHOY MATES! Swashbucklers of all ages will be converging on Tybee Island to participate in the 8th Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest! Don your most colorful pirate’s costume, and gather your Krewe of marauding buccaneers, because Tybee will be overrun and invaded by pirates. That’s right the 8th Annual Pirate Fest weekend is coming October 5th-7th, 2012 and that means lots of pirates, merriment, parade and much more.
